About Me — Chun Hao
Hi there! My name is Chun Hao from Singapore. I’m 20 years old, turning 21 later this year!
When I first started writing on Medium, I was in National Service; A mandatory conscription for Singaporean males once they turn 18 years old. Don’t mind the messy hair from the cover picture…but I couldn’t care more about my appearance after commissioning from Officer Cadet Course — a grueling 9-month leadership course after Basic Military Training(BMT).
Genuine exhilaration was all I felt.
Back to the story, I was once asked by my friend,
“If you were given five words to describe yourself, what would they be?”
My five words will be:
#1: Introvert
An introvert by nature. Or simply an expert at being a homebody.
I used to be very socially conscious about my introverted nature. At one point in my life, I even tried to deny myself of such a trait by being someone I am not — feigning enthusiasm and energy with strangers did not pass the “vibe check” for me.
Interactions with strangers drain my social “battery” and I need to urgently “recharge” myself back home by either watching my favorite content creators on Youtube or simply just sleeping.
However, I never want to settle down at the level I’m deemed to be. I want to test my limits. How so?
On Monday, I get tired after spending time with my friends for a lunch meet-up. On Tuesday, I will meet friends for both lunch and dinner.
Bottum's line is: Although I am an introvert by nature, I never want to be dragged down by the traits that feel the most natural for me. I know that I will never make progress in life as I am simply in my comfort zone if I do so.
